Miriam Calzada presents her exhibition “May 15”

On May 15, the “May 15” cocktail event by Dominican artist Miriam Calzada was held at Art Gallery, sponsored by Quint Collection Hollywood & JQ Group. The reception was hosted by Mr. Edward De Valle alongside the renowned artist.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – Miriam’s work is unlike anything previously seen in the Dominican Republic. She has a deep passion for nature, as well as a profound respect for it. This connection with the environment inspired our friends at Quint Collection Hollywood to participate in the event, as this oceanfront project is surrounded by mangroves and exotic wildlife from a national reserve—remarkable features of this beautiful development, noted Mr. Edward De Valle.

The Dominican artist shared insight into this fresh and exquisite exhibition titled “May 15”, which will remain open to the public for two weeks starting May 15. “Immerse yourself in reality beyond your screen.”

From the most remote valley to the highest mountain, silent and unnoticed, clouds still shake and echo in the ears of those who need them most. Clouds cleanse, heal, and play a powerful role in nature. Beyond this, they have entertained us since childhood with their shapes, reflections, and softness… And the rain always returns.

Water travels through the valleys until it reaches the sea, where it finally settles before evaporating once again to form our protagonists… and once again, it rains.

Miriam Calzada expressed:

“The supreme simplicity of cloud composition draws me in—not only do I observe and contemplate them, but I’ve grown fond of them. Such special droplets of water suspended in the atmosphere. I celebrate their fantastic balance… Water always finds its way back to the earth.”

Mrs. Marianne de Tolentino, inspired by the collection, shared her impressions:

“In the lyrical sky of an eternal blue, clouds take on fantastic and surreal contours. Strange suggestions of unknown creatures—chubby, cheerful, cotton-like, filamentous, floating, ever-moving. Their consistency, shapes, and luminosity place them more as protective beings of a mysterious universe than as threatening or stormy. Thus, Miriam Calzada’s lens captures unusual and fascinating variations.”
